Hello, everyone! I am a rising junior at Hartwick College and work as a Blue Key Tour Guide. I am an Environmental Chemistry major with a minor in Environmental Science and Policy and a minor in Political Science. This summer I will be working with the EPA and Environmental Justice and I am super excited!

I am very sensitive and caring and full of joy. I love nature, the power of love, and frienship. Please feel free to ask questions, though, I will not answer anything super personal. I hope you enjoy my blog. Have a wonderful day!

My roommate pointed out that I am following the metaphor, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” because I am doing what I can to achieve personal growth and gain strength from a really crap situation in my life right now. I have never really appreciated the metaphor until now. It makes me happy :)

I told me roommate that I wished I could do something about me liking the guy I like and she starts laughing because she was picturing what something was and the first thing she thought of was me making a love potion.

My questions have not been posting it seems.. I resent it yesterday. All I said was that my name is Ray and I commute to Hudson Valley Community College. Also I have been exceedingly busy with work so i have not had time for anything fun. Also, I will add that you can do any 10 of those numbers that you wish.

It’s nice to meet you, Ray :) How has work been? Has the weather been good when you are working outside? Which Walmart do you work at? I am sorry you haven’t had time for fun.

Massachusetts Adventure

Over the weekend, Shannon and I went out to Massachusetts to visit Hayley. We had a great time. We got a bit lost (twice) on the way there, but we made it pretty much in the time we thought it would take to get there. We met up at the Berkshire Mall and met Hayley’s friend Kate whose names is also Katherine Grace :P

At the mall, Shannon and I shopped for business attire. We found good clothing in JC Penny, DEB, and Target. We also bought a pair of jeans each and some cute shirts that aren’t business clothing. We ate in the food court and I forgot to use my gift card for Subway.

After shopping, we went to Hayley’s house. We were greeted my her three adorable dogs. Kate had to leave and the rest of us ordered Chinese food. We ate dinner and played Mario Kart and then went out for ice cream. After getting ice cream we played Disney Scene It. Shannon won, of course. Then we played some all plays for fun and a clip from The Princess Dairies came on so we decided to watch that. After watching The Princess Dairies, we watched the end of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest because it was on TV.

After Pirates was over, we were all quite tired and planning on going to sleep, but Magic Beyond Words, a new movie that is a documentary about J.K. Rowling’s life and what influenced her to write Harry Potter. We recorded it and finished watching it in the morning. We also watched Say Yes to the Dress  and  Chopped and just hung out. Shannon and I drove home Sunday afternoon and got slightly lost because the roads weren’t label well but we made out way home in good time.

Finding Pleasure in Simple Things :)

I had a really great day today even though we didn’t do anything big or crazy or extraordinary. I just enjoyed the time I spent with me friends.

It was pouring this morning when I woke up which was a bit disappointing because Robert made a list of things for us to do around hi city, but they were all outdoors things. About an hour after I woke up, the rian had stopped and I took forever to do things around the house and get ready so it was just starting to sprinkle by the time I was ready to leave. Robert lives about 40 minutes away, but after about 15 minutes of driving, the rain had stopped. I stopped about 10 minutes from his house to go to the bathroom and when I was coming out of the store, it was pouring again. We didn’t let the rain stop us, though.

After I picked Robert up, we drove to the park we were hoping to hang out and play tennis at, but the after about 15 minutes, the rain was coming down even harder. We decided to hang out in a store. We picked a new craft store called Hobby Lobby. “Hobby Lobby isn’t just a craft store, it’s a lifestyle!” That is what we came to decide. Hobby Lobby is amazing. I love that store now. They had a children’s toy section, but almost all of them were science related. They had physics and chemistry sets, they had solar powered robots to build, they had astronaut ice cream and volcanoes, and they had sustainable “toys” like a recycling kit. I was in love! :P

We spent over an hour and a half in Hobby Lobby. Then, we drove to Jumpin’ Jack’s to meet up with Brian, who just came back from an internship in Michigan, and Shannon. On the way we pasted Sarah’s house, so I decided to call her to see if she wanted to join us. She did :) We all got something to eat. Brian and Robert were instant friends as I knew they would be. That is why I really wanted them to meet. Most of us also got ice cream. We were at Jumpin’ Jack’s for 2 and a half/3 hours. Most of the time we were just sitting in a circle talking, laughing, and just spending time together. It was great.

By the time I brought Sarah home, it was pouring again and the roads were flooding. The drive to her house was definitely an adventure. Then, I decided to drive through the park with Robert. After driving through the park, I showed Robert the garden I will be working in this summer. At this point it was only misting so we walked through the garden together and I told him stories from past years. The garden is one of my homes away from home. After spending about 30 minutes in the garden, we went back to the park and played basketball for awhile. Robert beat me by one.

Next, we drove back toward Robert’s home, but we didn’t feel like ending the fun yet, so we went to the pet store! We both love animals so it was a great place to go. I really wanted the cute kitten named Monkey. I dreamed out loud to Robert that we could go to grad schools near each other and rent an apartment together so we could take care of a kitten together :P We still weren’t ready for the night to end so we drove to yet another park near Robert’s house and just sat in the parking lot and talked for another hour or so.

My day was just a day of spending time with my best friend and some of my closest friends. We did simple things like, sit and talk, eat, and look around in different stores, but the day was very enjoyable. I spent the whole day with people I care about and enjoy being with. I love spending time with my friends, especially my bestie
